@phdlife I am currently considering a part-time position as PhD student in the group I did my master thesis (Germany). Basically, I would be spending two times per day at University and three days in my company. The field is computer science / domain specific languages. Anyone who has experience with such an arrangement? Both positive and negative reports are welcome.

@niklaskorz Well then I would say as long as your PhD supervisor is aware that you are not going to be able to disregard your working hours like a typical PhD student would, that should work well.
@niklaskorz you would do 40% research and 60% non-academic job then ? Without direct connection between one job and the other ?
